Harbour Grand Kowloon Supports Action for Climate Change by Participating in Earth Hour 2011
To show its commitment to protecting the environment and support for action on climate change, Harbour Grand Kowloon (formerly Harbour Plaza Hong Kong), will participate in Earth Hour, a global Worldwide Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) climate change initiative.
On Saturday night, 26 March, between 6:45 and 8:30, its resident band at Waterfront Bar & Terrace will perform unplugged. Guests will be asked for their voluntary participation to switch off the lights in their rooms. What’s more, the hotel will turn off their lights in most back-of-the-house areas and dim the lights in public areas, restaurants and hotel exteriors.
The day before (25 March) the hotel’s staff will also support by turning off all back of the house computers from1-2pm.
In 2010, 2.5 million Hong Kong people participated in WWF's Earth Hour, joining the 1 billion voices from around the world to switch off the lights for an hour to respond to climate change. This simple and meaningful global action has shown the world our concerns on climate change.
